Jiffy Lube

Case Information:

This is a Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) case brought by Chresha Johnson, who is employed as a lube tech by Heartland Automotive Services, Inc. and Team Car Care, LLC doing business as Jiffy Lube (“Jiffy Lube”). Ms. Johnson brought suit on behalf of individuals who performed the job duties of lube techs over the past three years who worked through their lunch periods but were not paid for working through lunch, resulting in their overtime hours being minimized or even eliminated.

We are requesting class certification and judicially supervised notice.

Employers that violate the FLSA are subject to double damages for all of the wages they failed to pay their workers. Employers are also responsible for an employee’s attorneys’ fees and costs if the employee prevails.  In the lawsuit, we are seeking to represent a class of lube techs and are requesting lost wages, liquidated (double) damages, injunctive relief, attorneys’ fees, costs, and expenses.
